NSCDC ARRESTS FOUR-MAN VANDALISM GANG IN ENUGU STATE

Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a four-man gang specialised in vandalizing rail line materials. A statement by the spokesman of the Command, CSC Denny Iwuchukwu, said the arrest was made possible with the assistance of the Hunters and Forest Security Services. The NSCDC Sate Commandant, Ezenyimulu Afrika, said the gang’s kingpin, Monday Onyeabor, was arrested in possession of two railway slippers at Mmafu in Aninri Local Government Area.

Afrika revealed that during the interrogation, Onyeabor gave the names of other three gang members as Ejike Ogbonna, Amobi Okolie and Chukwuka Ekwe, all from Oduma in Aninri Local Government Area. According to the statement, one of the suspects, Okolie confessed that he assisted other suspects in transporting the vandalized materials. Recovered from the suspect were syringes and a pipe which he uses in sniffing the infamous Methamphetamine known as Mkpurummiri, a cutlass and a motorcycle. Meanwhile, investigation is being intensified by the Corps to unravel others in the illegal act.
