WOMEN WOED TO JOIN ENUGU GOLF CLUB
Women have been enjoined to join the Enugu golf club to enable them play and enjoy the game of golf. The Vice Lady Captain, Enugu Women Golf Section, Nkiru Agbogu, stated this on Tuesday at an event to mark the 2022 Women’s Golf Day in Enugu. Agbogu opined that golf game will enable women to exercise well by playing the game at their pace, adding that the Women’s Golf day is celebrated globally to raise awareness on women participation in the game and also clear the wrong insinuation that golf is exclusively reserved for the rich.
The Vice Lady Captain, noted that the Enugu Women Golf Section has improved since it was established in 2010, as it currently has over 30 female golfers. On the challenges facing female golfers, Agbogu revealed that the challenges are quite overwhelming and enormous but applauded the golf club captain for tackling the challenges head on.
On her part, a female golfer, Amaka Okoye, said the event, which is aimed at celebrating women in golf, also provided them an opportunity to train new ones and perfect their skills on the game. Okoye hinted that golf is a leveler, as it is played by the young, old, rich and poor and advised people to come and see what it takes to play golf.
