UCHE UGWU UNVEILS TROPHY, BOOKS FOR THE 7 TH EDITION, ENUGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY GRASSROOT BOXING EVENT

The speaker, Enugu state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche C. Ugwu, has Unveil 600 books for the state ministry of Education as well as Trophies for the 7th Edition Of The House Of Assembly Grassroots Boxing Event. The Unveiling took place at The Post Primary Schools Management Board, (PPSMB) in Enugu. Speaking at the Unavailing, the Speaker, said, as the current speaker, he has inherited the Grassroot Boxing talent hunt exercise. Ugwu who assured that, he will continue to shine the light of the Event, said, the state through boxing, want to catch young and talented boxers. The speaker who mentioned that, the state house of assembly is working on a bill identified as, Youth Sports Development Fund, identified that, the state government will always give financial and moral support to sports development in Enugu state,

Acknowledging the importance of the Unveiling, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, the Sports ambassador boxing, and the co-ordinator, action committee on Sports Literacy, said this year event concentrated on students of junior secondary schools ahead of the next Olympic games. He further highlighted that, the event which started last year with a tour of the 17 local government areas in Enugu state where selections were made, will have witness it’s grand finale at thenemd June as well as help produce boxers for the Enugu state sports council ahead of the national sports festival.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Post Primary School Management Board, PPSMB Enugu, Dr. Fr. Hilary Mgbodile appreciated the zeal of the speaker for sponsoring sports in all levels. Nothing that, sports is a unified event, and a source of livelihood, he called on students to use the opportunity to optimize their talent for the benefits of their career and the society at large.
