The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase, has declared that he is in the Commission for service to God and humanity.

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase, has declared that he is in the Commission for service to God and humanity. Arase who made this declaration in his first official Town Hall Meeting with the staff  members of the Commission also solicited for their support, understanding and patience. He however said that he does not believe that the Commission’s relationship with the police Force must be tensed to show that they are working.

According to him, he neither work in toxic environment nor subscribe to confrontation as a leadership approach to getting results. The PSC chairman added that there are better ways of resolving conflicts without resorting to actions that will embarrass the government and portray both institutions in bad light. He assured the staff members that serious talks and efforts have already began towards an amicable resolution and settlement of all issues in a win-win situation.

Arase therefore asked them to eschew every form of misconceptions and prejudices against the Police Force for de-escalation of the conflict and restoration of trust and friendliness between the two agencies.
