PDP calls for probe of Enugu APC Chairman, Ugochukwu Agballah

The people’s Democratic Party, PDP has called on the leadership of the All progressive Congress, APC, party in the state to settle with aggrieved members and restitute whatever was taken from them. Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday at the PDP campaign office, Enugu, the Director of communications and spokesman for the party, Nana Ogbodo noted with dismay the alleged claim by the opposition party leadership Ugochukwu Agballah that the crisis rocking the APC party was sponsored by the PDP.

To this end, the PDP called on the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to investigate the allegations made by members of the APC party on their chairman Ugochukwu Agballa along with the gubernatorial candidate Uche Nnaji. While stating that the crisis bedeviling the Enugu State APC is protracted and predates the current electioneering season, Ogbodo asserted that some of the issues raised by the APC protesters are self-evident.

It will be recalled that some members of the opposition party under the aegis of Concerned members of Enugu State APC staged a protest against its leadership at the party’s national secretariat. They accused the Enugu APC chairman of embezzling over one billion naira among other gross misconduct. However, Agballah had in a swift reaction, blamed the protest on the PDP, which it said was sponsoring crisis within the party. He denied embezzling any kobo belonging to the party.
