FEDERAL GOVERNMENT APPROVES THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE MILLION DOLLARS FOR RAILWAY PROJECTS NATIONWIDE

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) says it has approved contracts worth Three hundred and twenty eight point eighty seven million dollars in consultancy services for the supervision of the various railway projects in the country. 
This was revealed by the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, after the weekly virtual FEC meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja. Amaechi said FEC also approved the sum of one hundred and fifteen point four billion naira for the dualisation of Kano-Kazaure-Kongolam highway in Katsina State.

Giving a breakdown of his ministry’s presentations at the meeting, Amaechi said he presented two memoranda, one of which was in respect of the consultancy services, adding that the second one was for the concessioning of the Onitsha River Port. He further stated that three railway projects that are yet to start construction include the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri, Kano-Maradi and then the Abuja-Warri railway.
