ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT DEMANDS CURRENT TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE, OTHERS TO REVIEW CASES OF SEALED SHOPS

The Enugu state Government has said that all business premises including shops that were sealed on Monday for non-compliance with the ban on the illegal sit-at-home order would remain closed for a period of one week. The government in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Chidiebere Onyia, stated that at the expiration of the one week period, the affected business owners can formally apply for a review of their respective cases.

The statement added that such applicants must present their current tax clearance certificates, and all other relevant revenue documents to enable the state government review and consider their formal letters for reopening. The government commended civil society organizations and residents who took part in peaceful demonstration in Enugu to support the state
government’s ban on sit-at-home order.
