ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT BANS TRICYCLE, COMMERICAIL MOTORCYCLE AND TRIPPER OPERATIONS IN THREE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS
The Enugu State government has banned the operations p of tricycle known as keke, commercial motorcycle known as okada and tipper-truck in Nkanu West and Nkanu East Local Government Areas with immediate effect. The ban also affected some communities in Enugu South Local Government Area. The affected communities are Amechi Uno, Awkunanaw, Uwani, Obeagu Main and Obeagu Uno.
Others are Centenary City, Obeagu, One day, Garki, Akwuke, Ugwuaji, Ndiagu Onunyo, Maryland and Ikiriki.
This was part of resolution reached at the end of an emergency Security Council meeting on Thursday, following the recent spike in insecurity in parts of the State. A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Simon Ortuanya enjoined the public to obey th Order as the Security Agencies have been directed to enforce it.
