APC Reiterates Commitment to Takeover Enugu Lion Building in 2023

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has reiterated its commitment to takeover the Enugu State Government House (Lion Building); in 2023.

It also condemned what it described as monopoly of the State by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a development that has taken the state backward in the development and good governance.

APC chairman in the state, Ugochukwu Agballa, stated this on Wednesday in Enugu when the former Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration Safety Agency (NIMASA), George Eneh, decamped to the party.

Also received were over 200 key members of APC led by B.N. Nebe, who formerly belong to the camp of the former State chairman of the party, Ben Nwoye, pledged their loyalty to Agballa’s leadership.

Agballa described the defection of the former NIMASA DG and the joining of other camp, as an indication that APC is not only alive but also is now a turnaround political party in Enugu state.

He called on others to join the party to redeem Enugu state from bad governance, stressing that APC is on a rescue mission against misrule perpetuated by PDP in the last 23 years.

“We need to occupy the Government House because APC is the only alternative party that can achieve that come 2023. And to achieve this, we need all your support.

“All positions are occupied by the PDP in Enugu state and that is why the politics is backward, unlike in states that have vibrant political parties. 

“Time has come for us to say no to political monopoly. And you are the ones who can help us achieve that. We have a big party that can accommodate everyone”, Agballa hinted.

The former Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Eugene Odo, in his remark, commended Eneh and all those who join their camp for taking the bold decision.

Odo pleaded with the party to ensure harmonisation ant to carry everybody along.

The former speaker also said that the National Working Committee of the Party had approved  Enugu state congresses and urged the new executive to carry all the party members along in scheme of things.

He lament that the current administration in the state has lost focus in providing quality leadership to the indigenes and residents of the state, which he noted APC will turn around when voted into power.

In an interview, George Eneh, said he decided to join the party in other to wrestle power from the PDP and also connect the state to the national politics.

Eneh expressed confidence in the ability of the State party chairman to turn things around for APC in Enugu state.

According to him, his supporters and Agbudu Ward in Udi LGA are in agreement with his defecation to the party.
