APC PESIDETIAL ASPITANT, BOLA TINUBU ASKS PDP’S ATIKU ABUBAKAR TO STEP DOWN AND ENDORSE HIM

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu has asked his Peoples Democratic Party PDP, aspirant Atiku Abubakar to step down and endorse him ahead of February 2023 presidential poll.  Tinubu asked Atiku to reciprocate the gesture he gave to him when he contested for the presidency in 2007 under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, CAN, by dropping his ambition and endorse him.

Tinubu made this known earlier today when he met with leaders from the northern part of the country under the umbrella of Arewa Joint Committee for an interactive session. The meeting was part of a wider interaction with selected presidential candidates to discuss their plans for the region ahead of the 2023 general elections. The appearance of the APC presidential candidate came two days after his rival in the PDP engaged in similar interaction with the northern leaders.

Meanwhile, suspected political thugs have attacked supporters of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar at his campaign rally in Kaduna State. The former vice president confirmed this in a post on his verified social media handles on Monday. This is coming a few days after thugs attacked supporters of the party in Zamfara State leading to the death of at least one person, while several others were injured. Atiku in the post, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call supporters of all political parties to order in a bid to tackle reoccurrence of such incident. Meanwhile, Casualties recorded during the attack could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
