A non-governmental organisation under the auspices of Ikeoha Mpu Pacesetters League  have commended the recent intervention of the National Assembly on the issue surrounding the arrest and detention of the Former Deputy President of the Senate Chief Ike Ekweremadu and wife in London.

A non-governmental organisation under the auspices of Ikeoha Mpu Pacesetters League  have commended the recent intervention of the National Assembly on the issue surrounding the arrest and detention of the Former Deputy President of the Senate Chief Ike Ekweremadu and wife in London. The  group in a statement signed by their coordinating Chairman, Benjamin chijioke and the Secretary, Dr Donatus Onu  appealed to other relevant agencies in Nigeria and west Africa to also intervene. Describing Senator Ekweremadu as a champion of peace and progress in Nigeria and in African continent, the group called for fairness and diligent in the conduct of investigation on the matter.

According to the statement, Senator Ekweremadu at different fora  have promoted the course of education, health and global issues and have diligently been discharging his responsibilities to uplift humanity since his childhood. They appealed to Nigerians not to  pass hasty judgement against such a man and his family as the whole saga represents a human tragedy involving parents and their sick child which could happen to anybody. While insisting their son, Ekweremadu would not harm an Innocent boy, the group prayed for quick recovery of Miss Sonia Chinonso Ekweremadu who is critically ill with a kidney problem. Recall  that senator Ekweremadu and his wife lady Beatrice were arrested and being tried by the  Metropolitan Police in London for alleged conspiracy to bring a child to the UK for organ harvesting.
