A Greece football club, Panathinaikos are making an effort to sign
Rangers and Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers before the end of the
summer transfer window.
Dessers’s future with Rangers remains uncertain ahead of Monday’s
deadline.
Rangers manager Russell Martin has refused to give any assurance that
the Nigeria international will stay at Ibrox beyond the window’s closure.
Earlier in the summer, the Light Blues rejected a 4.5 million euro bid from
Panathinaikos’ rivals AEK Athens for the striker. Dessers reportedly
agreed personal terms with the Yellow and Blacks.
Panathinaikos could tempt the former Feyenoord player with the prospect
of Champions League football, which will be a significant lure.
According to Record Sport, the Greens are determined to complete the
signing before the deadline.
The 30-year-old was the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership last season
with 18 goals.
