In a high-profile announcement that has captured the attention of social media users, former President Donald Trump revealed he will be sitting down for a “major interview” with tech billionaire Elon Musk. This development comes shortly after Kamala Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the 2024 presidential race.

Trump, who made the announcement on his social media platform Truth Social, stated, “On Monday night, I’ll be doing a major interview with Elon Musk—details to follow!” The specifics of the interview’s broadcast platform are still under wraps, but speculation is high that it may be featured on X (formerly known as Twitter), given Musk’s ownership of the platform.

The relationship between Trump and Musk has been notably dynamic. Initially, Trump was a critic of electric vehicles, but he shifted his stance after Musk endorsed him following an assassination attempt at a campaign rally. Trump even received a Tesla Cybertruck as a gift from internet influencer Adin Ross during an interview at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Despite speculation, Musk has denied reports suggesting he is donating $45 million a month to Trump’s campaign. While Musk has indicated an intention to contribute to Trump’s efforts, the amount will be significantly less. The tech mogul has also voiced concerns over what he perceives as censorship of Trump’s account by Google and Meta.

Social media has erupted with anticipation for the interview, with many users expressing excitement and labeling it as a potential internet-breaking event. Comments range from enthusiasm about the impact of the interview on American politics to hopes that it will be broadcast on X.

In contrast, the upcoming presidential debates are shaping up with less clarity. Trump has confirmed his participation in a debate with Kamala Harris scheduled for September 4 on Fox News. However, Harris’ campaign has declined the invitation, citing Trump’s refusal to engage in a previously scheduled debate on ABC.

As the 2024 election race heats up, the Trump-Musk interview is set to be a significant event, drawing widespread attention and sparking conversation across social media platforms.
