Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, has denied being responsible for the protests in Edo State. Oshiomhole issued the denial in response to the call for his arrest by the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, over the protests in Benin City.
The former governor said the call for his arrest was unnecessary because he never called for the protests. Speaking through his spokesman, Victor Oshioke, he said he only asked people of the state to intimidate the People’s Democratic Party with their campaigns and not violence. Some youths in Edo State had embarked on a riot over the current naira and fuel scarcity in Benin City.
