The chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Enugu State Reverend Emmanuel Edeh, has decried what he calls deliberate destruction of lives and properties in Nigeria. Edeh regretted that thousands of Nigerians are killed daily in different parts of the country, while the federal government and security agencies feel less concern in the face of the senseless killings.
The CAN chairman stated this on Friday in Enugu in a statement to mark the Easter celebration. He wondered why those who ought to condemn the unfortunate killings are silent, a development the cleric hinted emboldens the perpetrators of the killings. Edeh reminded those in government that the protection of lives and properties of Nigerians is their primary duty, adding that any government that cannot protect Nigerians has failed.
