The name of Enugu State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Afojulu Raymond Ozoemena has been forwarded to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation. Speaker of the House, Edward Ubosi, confirmed this on Tuesday in a letter sent to the House by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, which was read at the resumption of plenary in Enugu.
Ubosi said the screening and confirmation has become important, as the National Judicial Council has recommended appointment of Ozoemena as chief judge of the state. He recalled that Ozoemena was on seventh September, 2021 sworn-in as the State Chief Judge on acting capacity, following the retirement of Justice Ngozi Emehelu from service.
The Speaker then directed the nominee to submit twenty-five copies of his curriculum vitae as well as appeal before the lawmakers for his screening on Thursday.
