The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of 7 nominees by president Muhammadu Buhari as National commissioners and Resident Electoral commissioner REC of INEC. They are Mohammed Haruna from Niger State, May Agbamuche-Mbu fromDelta State, Ukeagu Nnamdi from Abia State, Retired Major General A. B. Alkali from Adamawa State, Professor Rhoda Gunus from Bayelsa State), Sam Olumekun and Olaniyi Ijalaye both from Ondo state. Kabiru Gaya the chairman on electoral committee on INEC asked the Senate to consider the report of it’s committee. After the report was laid and presented on the floor of the chamber, some lawmakers who attended the plenary took turns to give their opinions on the development. At the end of the plenary, the commissioners were approved.
