President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of Federal
University of Agriculture, Ako-Nike in Enugu State.
This follows President Tinubu’s assent to the bill establishing the university
sponsored by the lawmaker representing Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal
Constituency, Paul Nnamchi.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, Nnamchi said the institution
will serve as a centre for agricultural innovation, rural empowerment, and
academic excellence; unlocking new pathways for food security, job
creation, and national development.
According to him, the university is a transformative milestone for his
constituency, the South East, and Nigeria at large.
Nnamchi stated that President Tinubu’s assent reflects visionary
leadership and a firm commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that
overlooked communities like Ako-Nike, are being given strategic
opportunities to thrive.
The lawmaker maintained that Ako-Nike is now more than a place of fertile
soil but a growing hub of knowledge, hope, and national purpose.
