PETROLEUM MINISTER SAYS INVESTIGATIONS ARE ONGOING OVER IMPORTATION OF ADULTERATED FUEL.

The minister of state for petroleum, Timipre Sylvia has assured Nigerians that investigations are ongoing to unravel cause of adulterated fuel imported into the country. The minister revealed this during a media briefing in Abuja, immediately after the Federal executive council meeting. Nevertheless, the minister did not disclose the identities of the names of companies involved in the adulteration but assured the public they will be made known after investigation.
Speaking concerning Nigerians whose cars were damaged after buying the fuel, the former governor said their situation will be put into consideration.

In another development, reports say consumers of Consumers of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, are allegedly arresting workers and owners of filling stations over the sale of adulterated products that have reportedly affected their vehicles’ engines.
It was gathered that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited might face litigation, especially if owners of filling stations find it difficult to manage the pressure from petrol users.
Speaking on the attacks, the President, Petroleum Products Retail Outlets owners Association of Nigeria, Billy Gillis-Harry, said the situation grew worse on Wednesday as customers were arresting and suing retail outlet owners instead of the NNPC. However, he said if the matter is not resolve, it will fall back to the NPC for further action.
