Determined to ensure that the living standard of the masses gets a boost, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP gubernatorial candidate Peter Ndubuisi Mba has reiterated his resolve to prioritize rural development, and robust industrialization if elected.
Speaking on Thursday during town hall meetings at Ugwogo Nike, Headquarters of Mbuluiyiukwu Development Centre and Emene, headquarters of Mbulujodo Development Centre both in Enugu East Local government area, Peter Mba assured of plans to set up a ten billion naira Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises revolving fund.
Peter Ndubuisi Mba who was also responding to some of the challenging issues raised by the people of the area, reassured of an inclusive economic development plan to ensure that no individual, group or institution is left behind stressing that whatever affects the weakest in the society affects everyone.
He also stated that the needs of the people have already been captured in his manifesto while using the medium to pledge his determination to revive, invigorate and equip the healthcare system, including the primary health centres to deliver 24-hour service in order to develop the economy with a healthy workforce.
In their separate remarks at the event, former Senator representing Enugu Senatorial Zone, Senator Gilbert Nnaji and Member representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency, Cornelius Nnaji, called for the construction of some of the rural roads which they hinted will enhance rural access and catalyze socio-economic development of the area.
On her part, a woman leader, Helen Ugwuoko and a clergyman, Rev. Fr. Chimezie Ani, while pledging support to the party, outlined some of the needs of the people to include road expansion, standard markets, unemployment, Hospital among others stressed the need for skill acquisition for the people.
