Nigerian fashion label Iamisigo, founded by designer Bubu Ogisi, is set to present its Spring/Summer 2026 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week, marking a major milestone for the brand and African fashion’s growing global influence.
The presentation follows Iamisigo’s recent win of the Zalando Visionary Award, an honor that recognizes designers who integrate creativity with sustainability and social impact. As part of the award, the brand earned a spot on the Copenhagen Fashion Week schedule, where it will debut its new collection in February 2026.
Founded in Lagos, Iamisigo is known for its cutting edge approach to design and its deep engagement with artisan communities across West and Central Africa, including Nigeria, Ghana, and the Republic of Benin. The brand often works with locally sourced materials and traditional weaving, dyeing, and textile techniques, blending cultural heritage with experimental silhouettes.
Designer Bubu Ogisi has consistently emphasized the importance of preserving indigenous craft while pushing the boundaries of contemporary fashion. Her collections often explore identity, spirituality, and African material culture through texture and form.
Copenhagen Fashion Week, regarded as one of the world’s most sustainability-focused fashion events, has increasingly spotlighted designers who merge artistic innovation with responsible production. Iamisigo’s participation underscores Africa’s growing presence on the global fashion stage and reinforces Lagos’ position as a creative hub shaping the future of sustainable design.
