Giorgio Chiellini says he’s set to retire from international football after Italy play Argentina at Wembley in June. The 37-year-old defender has played 116 times for Italy and was a key part of the squad that won the European Championship in England last year. The Azzurri have failed to qualify for this year’s World Cup in Qatar. Chiellini, who made his debut for Italy in 2004, is joint fifth in the list of Italy’s most-capped players alongside Andrea Pirlo. Only Daniele de Rossi, Paolo Maldini, Fabio Cannavaro and Gianluigi Buffon have made more appearances.
In basketball, The Boston Celtics completed a 4-0 sweep over the Brooklyn Nets to book their place in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. The second-seeded Celtics never trailed in a 116-112 victory in New York, as Jayson Tatum led with 29 points. Jaylen Brown added 22 points while the Nets’ Kevin Durant made 39 for his best game of the series. The Celtics await the winner of the series between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bulls which the Bucks lead 3-1.
