Imo state Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has condemned the
gruesome attack by gunmen suspected to be members of the proscribed
IPOB in the early hours on Friday, at Arondizuogu, Ideato North Local
Government Area of the state.
Danjuma frowned at the senseless assault, which claimed the lives of over
seven persons and left several others critically injured, described it as
barbaric, inhumane, and totally unacceptable.
He assured the public that the Command has deployed adequate
operational and intelligence assets to identify, apprehend, and bring the
perpetrators to justice.
While expressing heartfelt sympathy to the families of those who lost their
loved ones, the CP prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and a
speedy recovery for the injured.
The state police public relations office, DSP Henry Okoye pointed out the
Command has called on members of the public to remain calm, vigilant,
and law-abiding.
