In related development, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawal, has warned that the sale or use of fireworks remained banned in the state. He explained that the ban was to ensure that criminal elements do not take advantage to commit crime during the yuletide in the state.
While calling on Enugu residents to remain vigilant and supportive, by sharing credible information on intelligence, Lawal said a team will be constituted to fish out lawless officers among the Police Force. The commissioner further reassured the state of his command commitment to collaborate with other security agencies and stakeholders to put in place adequate crime prevention measures and ensure a crime-free Christmas and New Year celebrations.
