The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Enugu State Council, has impeach its chairperson, Chinyere Mgboh. It also appointed Ngozi Ngene as the acting chairperson of the Association. A communiqué issue by NAWOJ State Secretary, Ogochukwu Chukwudike, at the end of its Congress in Enugu said Mgboh was impeached over high handedness, financial mismanagement and unguided utterances.
It directed the impeached chairperson to hand over all the properties of the Association to the Acting chairperson to avoid embarrassment. While decrying the state of insecurity in Enugu state allegedly carried out by tricycle operators, they called on motorists to apply caution during the yuletide to avoid carnage on the roads. On the problem of water scarcity, it urged the state government to urgently look into the matter in order to alleviate the plights of the people in that regard.
