ELDER STATESMEN ALLEGE PLOTS BY MAJOR POLITICAL PARTIES TO ZONE PRESIDENTIAL POSITION OUTSIDE SOUTH EAST

Elder statesmen from the South East, under the umbrella of Igbo Elders Consultative Forum has alleged plots by major political parties to zone their presidential position in the 2023 poll outside the South East. They regretted that some persons in the zone are being used to achieve the plot, with a promise of being chosen as running mate to whoever emerges the  presidential candidate in any of the major political parties.

Chairman of the forum, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who stated this at a press conference in Abuja said the South East have unanimously taken a position on the matter. Ezeife noted that the region will not accept any other position from any of the political parties, except the presidential ticket. He assured that measures have been put in place to identify the people working against the political interest of the South East people saying they would incur the wrath of the people.
