President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, as he turns sixty years today. The President, in a statement by his media aide, Femi Adesina, saluted Ekweremadus’ contributions to the legislature, where he has served since 2003. He noted that the former deputy senate president made useful impact on constitutional and electoral reforms in the country, as well as spearheaded the enhancement of the powers of the regional parliament, when he served as Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament.
The President lauds Ekweremadus’ long stay in power, which according to him, is an expression of the confidence by the people of Enugu West senatorial zone.
