The Lagos State Police Command announced the successful rescue of the three Fouani brothers who had been abducted. Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, confirmed their release in a statement to journalists on Tuesday.

The brothers, Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani, were kidnapped around 6 p.m. on June 14 in Lagos. The Fouani brothers are associated with Fouani Nigeria Ltd, a company specializing in electronics and the sole distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria.

Reports indicated that the brothers were abducted while traveling by boat from their factory. On Monday, the police had assured the public that they were working diligently to secure the brothers’ release.

According to Vanguard, the victims, along with the boat driver and his assistant, were freed on Monday night in Orugbo Iddo. Hundeyin attributed the successful rescue to the combined efforts of the Lagos Marine Police and the Nigerian Navy.

“They were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo. Our marine police, with the support of the Nigerian Navy, brought them to shore,” Hundeyin stated. “Our tactical team in the area then escorted them to their home on Banana Island early this morning.”

The brothers have since been safely returned to their residence, marking the end of their harrowing ordeal.
